2017 – 2018 Application

Thank you for your interest in the Rangeview Chapter of the National Honor Society. Membership in local chapters is an honor bestowed upon a student. To be eligible to apply, a student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior; have at least a 3.500 cumulative high school GPA; and demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, and character—as reflected on the application.

A faculty committee will vote on each application to determine whether an applicant is admitted or not. The committee will consider scholarship, leadership, service and character, including but not limited to the following areas: variety of activities in and out of school; types of courses and diversity of courses taken, as reflected on the transcript; grades, leadership positions held; quality of the written essay; the presentation of the application; and community involvement.

Please click here for the complete application.

NHS meets on the second Tuesday of each month (pending volunteer commitments).  Applications are available the first of September, and due by October 20th after fall break. See Mr. Siebenthal for any questions or visit for applications.

More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginnings in 1921.  Chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in the activities of NHS. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their previous accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school functions and through community service. Benefits of membership include unique scholarship and travel opportunities; membership is also an excellent indicator of achievement on college applications and resumes. We have an active chapter here at Rangeview, and have received recognition for supporting St. Jude’s Children with Cancer, Project C.U.R.E., and volunteering at a local food bank.
